Upcoming Planned Outage

Looks like Site5 is poised to make a very welcome enhancement to their service offerings. Consequently, there will be a planned outage at some point next week. I'll let you know when I have more definite information, but for now, here's the email I received from Site5:

Dear Peter Wood,

As part of our ongoing effort to provide a high performance hosting experience, we will be redistributing a large number of web hosting accounts (along with their MultiSite sub-accounts) to a fleet of new servers. More specifically, the number of accounts on many of our MultiSite hosting servers will be cut in half.

As you might expect, this redistribution will result in highly increased website performance and speed. In addition, we have several new Level III Systems Administrators on staff who are working to ensure that our servers are running at peak performance 24 hours a day.

Your account "prwdot.org" is hosted on a server which will have its accounts split (moiras.multisite). This does not necessarily mean that your account will be moved to a new server, since half of the accounts on each system will remain where they are.

It will take approximately three days to complete the redistributions for all servers (three days total, not three days per server). We will begin the process mid-to-late next week. Further information with a detailed schedule and list of accounts being moved will be sent out early next week.

We will be taking every precaution to ensure that downtime from these migrations is minimized, however accounts being moved can expect to experience a minor outage as a result of the move. We will provide more details on this early next week.
