On Monday evening at approximately 6:20 p.m. EDT, prwdot.org suffered an unplanned outage. The site was back up by 6:40 p.m., and full functionality was restored by approximately 7:00 p.m. The cause of the outage was apparently another user on the machine running a program that consumed an inordinate amount of system resources. This user's account was suspended temporarily, and Site5 worked with the user to correct their application. There was another brief outage at around 9 p.m. EDT when the user restarted their program, but this was quickly corrected.
In addition to the unplanned outage on Site5's part, WordPress.com had an outage last night as well, so I was unable to post here on the prwdot.org site status blog.
